About Us

Bethany is the owner and co-founder of Leadership Intentions. Her work as a Leadership Coach is grounded in the belief that powerful coaching offers administrators the opportunity to move from managers to intentional leaders, enabling them to positively transform the lives of students.

Mrs. Zito earned her B.A. from Western Michigan University in Secondary Education, her M.A. from Oakland University as a K-12 Literacy Specialist, and her M. Ed. in Leadership from Eastern Michigan University. She has served in education for over thirty years at the classroom level, as a Building Principal, and at the district level in the area of Curriculum, Assessment, Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, and Student Services.

Additionally, Bethany served as both Associate Director and Director for AdvancED in Michigan, as well as Adjunct Instructor at University of Michigan-Flint.

Melody, a co-founder of Leadership Intentions, has held multiple educational leadership positions throughout the 30+ years she has served in education. As teacher, principal, Director of Curriculum, and Superintendent, Melody has worked to close opportunity gaps while providing high quality education in a budget conscious manner.

Melody holds multiple degrees in Education, including a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Michigan State University.

Throughout her career, Melody was awarded the Carnegie Foundation Dissertation in Practice of the Year and Michigan State University Nancy Colflesh Distinguished Alumni awards.

Melody’s most recent work centers on board policies in her capacity as a Neola Associate, along with other assistance to district and building leaders.
